Flotation is a recovery technique used in archaeology to retrieve light organic remains from the soil matrix through water separation. Here 10 liter bulk samples from a prehistoric site in northern Germany using an affordable and efficient flotation technique. The sample is dumped into a sieve collecting the light fraction (seeds, woody remains, roots) while the heavier fraction stays in the bucket.
